Meet our leadership


Dr. Larry Robertson - Senior Pastor


Larry has been Senior Pastor of Hilldale since 2002. He’s married to his college sweetheart, Beth, and they’ve been blessed with six children and two sons-in-law.


A native west Tennessean, Larry was born and raised in Savannah, TN. He was born again at the age of ten and baptized into the fellowship of Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah. Hopewell also licensed and ordained Larry into the Gospel ministry in 1982 and 1987, respectively.


Larry holds a B.A. degree from Blue Mountain College in northeast Mississippi and two graduate degrees—M.Div. and Ph.D.—from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.


Larry enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, reading, and watching movies in his spare time. And coffee. He loves a good cup o’ coffee.

Bro. Paul Scott - Associate Pastor


Paul Scott has been at Hilldale since 2007. Paul was called into the ministry in 1992 and has served as a children's minister, college minister, and pastor.  


He and his wife Shelley have three children, a daughter-in-law, and a son-in-law, and two precious grandchild. Paul and Shelley served as church planters in Maturín, Venezuela from 1999-2007 with the International Mission Board. As missionaries, they had the opportunity to help plant new churches, train national leaders, and share the Gospel in unreached areas.


Paul graduated from Blue Mountain College in 1996 with a major in Biblical Studies. Later he received his Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. 


He enjoys water skiing, boating, weight lifting and honey buns with ice cream.

Bro. Lyndel Littleton - Worship Pastor


As the son of a Worship Pastor, Bro. Lyndel was born and raised in Oklahoma with a few years spent in Missouri and Texas. In Oklahoma he married his High School, sweetheart, Cheryl. They have two married children, and 7-10 grandchildren (depending on the current foster care situation).


Lyndel was ordained into the Gospel ministry in 1982 and has served the Lord in churches in Oklahoma, Colorado, Mississippi, and Tennessee. He and his family moved to Tennessee in 1988 serving in Martin and Joelton before coming to Hilldale in 2007. He has led mission trips to many States and countries. He learned Portuguese so he can better share the Gospel alongside of IMB partners in Portugal and Brazil. (You should go with him to Portugal or Brazil some time.) 


Lyndel enjoys teaching others and sharing his wide variety of interests. He likes to write music for choirs, handbells, and congregational singing. He is an artist who works in stained-glass, acrylic and watercolor paints, and anything else he can get his hands on. He keeps chickens, bees, and koi, grows roses and iris, builds gazebos and fences, and …. so much more!

Bro. Terry Brown - Education Pastor


Terry grew up in East Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a B.S. degree in Adult Education. He received his M.R.E. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Terry and his wife, Jan, have two married adult children and seven grandchildren. 

 

In over 30 years of ministry, Terry has served churches in East Tennessee, Texas and Alabama as Minister of Education and served on the Alabama State Board of Missions as Minister to Families and Discipleship prior to coming to Hilldale Baptist Church in September of 2003. 

 

He has a passion for people of all ages, discipling and encouraging them through the Word, and meeting folks where they are in their particular stage of life. Terry began Celebrate Recovery at Hilldale Baptist Church in January of 2016.  

 

Terry enjoys camping, kayaking, trout fishing, motorcycles, along with woodworking. But he relishes time with his grandkids!

Bro. Tim Muñoz - Preschool/Children's Pastor


Tim Munoz ministers to our newborn through 6th grade kids and their families. Children in his ministry are often introduced to Christ at an early age, and together with parents, he helps children fully understand their decision to follow Christ. 


Through ministries like Sunday morning LIFEGroups, Missions, Vacation Bible School, and Wednesday night worship for tweens, children at Hilldale are encouraged to grow in their personal walk with Christ. 


He is a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a degree in Criminal Justice, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a degree in Christian Education.  


Tim joined Hilldale in January of 2006. He and his wife Tracey have three grown children (Hannah, Ben, and Joshua). 


He enjoys having fun, cheering Alabama on to another National Championship (Roll Tide), and traveling. But more than all of that, he loves spending quality time with Tracey and doing whatever she wants to do.

Bro. Michael McDaniel - Student Pastor


Michael McDaniel ministers to our students and college and young adults. He and his wife Andrea have four children and she serves alongside him in ministry.


Michael received an Associate in Applied Science from Pearl River Community College in 2001. After surrendering to the ministry in 2003, he completed a BA in Christian Ministry from Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2007.


Prior to being called to Hilldale in 2014, Michael served as Student Pastor for ten years at Pine Grove Baptist Church of Picayune, Mississippi (his home church).


God has given him a great passion to teach young people to Know Jesus and to make Jesus Known.


One of his favorite Bible verses is Philippians 3:10: "I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death." 

 

Michael enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family. When he has free time, he enjoys being outdoors, hunting or fishing.

Bro. Scott Pittman - Community Impact Pastor


Scott Pittman was called to Hilldale in 2019. He’s a Mississippi native and earned a Sports Medicine Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi before surrendering to the call of ministry in 1998. 


Scott and his wife Donna have three daughters and serve together in a variety of ways at the Hilldale Family Life Center.


Having a heart to see people follow Jesus Christ with passion, Scott and his wife Donna have frequently lead youth camps, retreats, and special events. His love for Jesus, his family, and sports is known by those who know him personally and from a distance.  The opportunity to play music, sing, and be with family is what the Pittman Family enjoys, not to mention being outside and around sports as much as possible. 


“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good!  Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” Psalms 34:8
